Prior to founding Beecken Petty O'Keefe & Company in 1996, John gained wide operating experience in the healthcare services industry. In 1989, he founded a senior housing management company that was sold to Evergreen Healthcare, Inc. in 1990. He then joined Evergreen, where from 1991 to 1995, he was responsible for acquisitions and corporate development. From 1995 to 1996, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Alterra Healthcare, Inc., overseeing its initial public offering. He began his career in 1976 in the healthcare financial consulting and audit practice of Coopers & Lybrand. John is the Chief Administrative Officer and serves as liaison to the limited partners of Healthcare Equity Partners, L.P. and Beecken Petty O'Keefe & Company Fund II L.P.

A Certified Public Accountant, John is a graduate of The College of Wooster and received an M.B.A. degree in accounting and finance from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
